Larry has been an advancement leader for more than 40 years. Since 2008, he has been the president of Copley Raff Inc., a global fundraising and management consultancy for nonprofits, and in 2023, the principal and creator of Abacus^TM Major Donor Ask Calculator LLC.

He has authored the GivingTake blog since 2011 and co-created the Master Gift Officer^TM four-day immersion event that ran for eight years and is a custom offering to advancement teams.

Larry was a driving force behind the creation of the Oregon Food Bank, the nation’s first statewide network. He served as CEO of the Legacy Emanuel Medical Center Foundation, the largest tertiary care and level I trauma medical center in Oregon.

Larry co-founded and is a director of the Autoimmune Disease Research Foundation, served as President of the Friday Forum, a Boston association for senior advancement officers, and served as board secretary for the Urban League of Portland. He earned his masters in public health and nutrition from UC Berkeley.
